Recently, my sister’s and I took a sisters trip to Georgetown, Colorado. Y’ALL. When I say it was one of the most BEAUTIFUL places I’ve been so far, that’s what I mean. The air was so crisp, the mountains were high, the skies were blue and clear. IT. WAS. AMAZING. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The place we stayed in was an Airbnb, Shout out to Tom and his wife, it was a lovely 2 bedroom, 1 loft room chalet at the base of the mountains. We didn’t do too much on this trip because my main focus was really to relax and unwind; which is precisely what I did.
On the first day, we took a little walk in the area and went to the near Family Dollar. The people are amiable and to be very candid that was a bit nerve-wracking for me, especially with the state our country is in today. You never really know what to expect as a black person in America, of course, I didn’t go in with my guard up and was my usual friendly self, but at the same time, I have to be realistic. HOWEVER, all went well, and that made me feel way more at ease. The day we left we took a train ride up the mountain, it was cool, I wish there were a little more to it but the scenery was magnificent, and it was nice to chill.
Overall, it was a great trip. It was good for me mentally and physically. I’m happy I got to spend time with my little sisters the most even though we didn’t do much, naturally because we’re growing up and time to do things like this will be hard to come by in a couple years, so we definitely have to enjoy it while we have the time.
Love Always, JoJo♥
